Instant banana raspberry ice cream – gluten free, dairy free, wheat free, refined sugar free, clean, vegan and paleo friendly.

Three days into Summer and it’s been a scorcher. Friday was crazy. I had the day off after my work Christmas party and at 9 am it almost felt like the middle of the day! I’ve been hidden inside most of today and yesterday as I am finishing up the last couple of recipes for my e-cookbook. I can tell you the name: “Naked Chocolate“. It’s sexy, it’s delicious but most importantly, it’s good for you. I HOPE to release it before Christmas but at the moment I’m playing it by ear as there is much left to be done from an admin point of view and with a full time job plus a weekly blog to maintain, I have begun to feel burnt out.

So, let’s keep today’s recipe simple as it’s hot out there and when you’re hot, you want something ice cold. My instant banana raspberry ice cream is just the thing you need. It’s creamy, refreshing and only 2 ingredients. Yes that’s right – bananas and raspberries. All you do is freeze some chopped up overripe bananas and when solid, you blitz it in your food processor along with your frozen raspberries and serve immediately for instant soft serve satisfaction.

You can add any topping you desire such as chocolate sauce, my clean ice magic  and/or some chopped roasted nuts, cacao nibs, raw chocolate chunks or coconut chips.

Instant banana raspberry ice cream

Yield: Serves 1 - 2

* You may need to thaw your frozen fruit a little before your blades are able to start moving.


  • 2 large, overripe bananas, sliced, covered in cling-wrap and frozen
  • 1 cup frozen raspberries
  • Optional: Sweetener of choice if your bananas aren't sweet enough


  1. Place ingredients in a high speed blender, food processor or smoothie maker with ice crushing blades and blitz till creamy. (You may need to scrape down sides of bowl a few times in the meantime). Serve immediately.
